Career Taboo
Career Taboo is an educational and interactive game designed to help students explore the wide range of professions available in Life Sciences and Healthcare. Inspired by the book Sciencegramers, this game transforms career discovery into a fun challenge where players learn about jobs beyond the traditional roles of doctor, nurse, or scientist.
Players must describe a scientific or healthcare profession without using the five forbidden words associated with it. The cards are organised by career areas:
🔵 Basic Research, Manufacturing & Education
🟡 Clinical Research
⚫ Business, Commercial & Innovation
🔴 Healthcare Delivery
🟢 Plant, Environmental & Animal Sciences
The goal is not only to guess the profession but also to spark curiosity: What does this person do? Why is their work important? How could this career contribute to solving real-world challenges? To encourage further exploration, each card displays the chapter number corresponding to that profession in the Sciencegramers book, allowing players to easily find the career, learn more about it, and discover related professions.
